Silvia & Laura Optometry Volunteering 2022

We are students from Optometry Cardiff University; in class, we learned that simple eye conditions such as refractive errors or cataracts that can be easily corrected in the UK are causes of life impairment in less developed countries.

This summer we are volunteering to travel to Malawi (Silvia) and Ghana (Laura) to be part of the solution to this unfair situation.

We will undertake various activities related to eye examination in the public Eye hospital and cataract screening projects in the community and rural areas, the aim will be to test, prescribe and give glasses to those who cannot afford them.
