Sending Amanda Garrard Foster's son to school

Donation protected
On Monday morning, there was a fire at the Jackson County Marina in Scottsboro, AL.  35 boats were destroyed and there were 8 fatalities. One of those 8, was Amanda Garrard. She was my step-sister. Amanda perished on a boat with 6 other people. She was on the boat to try and help save the lives of 5 children and their mother. One of the children is believed to have special needs. Amanda refused to leave the children to save herself, and tragically all of them lost their lives.

Amanda was the mother of 4 children herself that remained here in MS. One of those 4 is a child named Grant. He is 17 years old and a senior in highschool getting ready to make his next steps in life. Now he is mourning the loss of his mother. Grant does not have a father and he is now essentially an orphan.  Grant lives with my husband, my self, and our children.

Grant has never left his mother's side throughout struggles of single parenthood, throughout good times or bad, he was always with his mom and now she is gone. Not only is he suffering a tremendous loss, now he is concerned with how he will be able to attend college. Grant will he graduating in May and would like to attend college but the grants will not cover his tuition for 4 years in a University.

Which brings me no other choice but to start a gofundme account. We are asking for donations to send grant to college and help make his transition easier for the next stage of his life. Any and all donations are appreciated as well as prayers and well wishes which have gotten us this far!!!

His mother died a hero, can you be a hero for him today???
