Scott Aumen Medical Fund

As many of you already know, our dad, Scott Aumen, has been going through some serious health issues over the past few years. He has been having severe chest pains that have affected his quality of life to the point that he is unable to work. He has sought medical advice from various doctors here on Vancouver Island and in Vancouver. Last year he had surgery which was supposed to relieve the pain and enable him to return to work and live a normal life. It did not. We have since expanded the search for treatment, which resulted in him speaking to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He has finally been diagnosed with Central Sensitization Syndrome, a rare medical condition which affects the nervous system.
This condition can be treated, so dad hopes to go to Florida for a three-week rehabilitation program in the near future. Unfortunately, this program is not covered by our BC medical system therefore there will be a large medical bill that our parents will have to manage. Then with the costs of airfare, accommodation, transportation, meals and medication etc, we estimate the costs to exceed $75,000.
Our parents are hard workers and never ask for help, so we are asking for your help for them. Our hope is that dad can regain his health, his quality of life and mom can stop worrying. Our main priority is to have our dad back to living without pain. Anything you can do to help with the cost of treatment would be immensely appreciated by all of us.
Thank you so much,
