Earlier this year Donna Meline, the owner of Mel-O-Dee Stables passed away. Her wishes were that this property remain an equine boarding facility. Reins of Love is striving to honor that, actively working with a business developer to achieve this...and more! With the help of dedicated volunteers, committed boarders and experienced staff, currently we are successfully operating Mel-O-Dee in the black.
My Name is Cindy Marx. I run Reins of Love which provides refuge and rehabilitation for abused equine, riding lessons and therapy services. We have been leasing the property with intent to expand the services offered at Mel-O-Dee Stables beyond boarding horses and the Reins of Love services to create an equine environment for the community, including a garden, pond, picnic tables, public and private events, and keep some of our country life here for all of us to enjoy.
Reins of Love has a right to purchase the property, if it can be done by the time our current lease ends on November 30, 2020. Meanwhile, the Mel-O-Dee Stables property is currently listed for sale. Without the funds to purchase the property, Reins of Love will not be able to purchase and will not be able to fulfill its dreams in support of the equine community which has a strong and historic tradition in the White Bear Lake area.
