Rosie's Fight to Beat FIP

My 8 month old kitten, Rosie, was diagnosed with FIP, which is a fatal illness unless treated. On Sunday, December 20th, Rosie was admitted for a long 12 hours in the emergency vet with a fever of 104.5 and was on IV fluids all day. Later that week, Rosie had a visit back to the vet to receive more antibiotics and medicines to bring her fever down. On Sunday December 27th, Rosie experienced several seizure episodes and had to take yet another trip back to the vet. So far, Rosie’s vet bills alone have cost well over $2,500. Without treatment, Rosie could have anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to live. In June 2020, I had to deal with the very difficult and emotional loss of my cat, Missy, who lived a long 20 years. I didn’t think I’d be open to bringing another kitten in for a while after loosing my best buddy; however, as soon as I started fostering a littler of 4 little grey tabbies, little miss Rosie caught my heart. I am absolutely heartbroken to find out that my baby girl may not make it very long. There could be a bit of hope, but I am unable to afford it myself. There is a cure, called Capella FIP treatment, but it is not FDA-approved or covered by pet insurance. It is an 84-day treatment, where 4 pills would need to be given each day. 1 pill cost $10 bringing to a total estimated cost of $3,400.
