As we all go through these uncertain times there are many businesses that are struggling to survive. With the imposed restrictions, restaurants have had to make adjustments so they could take advantage of the nice weather and accommodate additional seating outside, however as winter approaches, this will no longer be the case. As seating capacities decrease, so does their revenue. A solution to this problem is to create an outdoor seating area with enough space to accommodate COVID restrictions and offer this additional seating through the winter months in tents.
Hello, I am the owner of The Denver Tent company which has been in operation since 1890. Since the beginning, we have striven to be a contributor to our local and national communities by providing tents, enclosures and other solutions be it big or small. We understand the necessity of keeping businesses at their highest capacities and want to play an integral role of keeping their doors open. Tents will give them the opportunity for more space which will bring in more customer traffic and additional revenue. We, as do you, want to see our restaurants be able to remain in business through this pandemic, they are a local source of pride, entertainment, culture, employment, etc. In addition, having more space will help generate more jobs and tax revenues for the city and state.
I have spent the last three years evaluating and securing strategic partners that can deliver high performance commercial tents that can sustain Colorado’s elements while conforming to states Covid-19 guidelines.
This fundraiser is for all restaurants who want additional seating capacity at a low cost. The funds raised will be used to design and purchase tents as well as the logistics of storing, handling, deploying, and maintaining these tents. Additionally, securing proper heating and air handling equipment will be an integral part of these funds.
This program will consist of low-cost long-term rentals for the winter months with an option to extend the agreement or purchase the tents at a discounted rate at terms end. This program will be initially launched in the greater Denver metro area however this will be expanded depending on this campaign’s success.
The tents that will be offered will be in two to three standard sizes which will fit most situations including parking lots, patios, and decks. To create an even larger space, these tents can be combined in different configurations. These tents may also be equipped with optional hard doors for ease of passage.
As funding continues to grow, additional tents will be purchased and offered to our customers. Each business utilizing this opportunity will realize additional revenues along with increased employment which will help facilitate normalcy in our neighborhoods and communities. Unfortunately, money needs to be raised quickly to purchase these tents and have them available before this winter season.

Brief History:
January 1, 1890
Alfred S. Proctor started Denver Tent & Awning Company on January 1, 1890. Ten Cornell University graduates each invested in the company. Mr. Proctor successfully directed the company for over 40 very prosperous years.

1939 – 1966
The company merged with the Brooks Company but retained the Denver Tent name. In 1945, the Denver Tent & Awning Company was sold to Ralph Avery, a Federal Inspector of War Plant Production. The company was sold to Medalist Industries in 1966 and again to Ernie Hagler, an icon in the tent-fabric industry, in 1969. Ernie owned the business for over 22 years. In the early 1990’s, the company shortened its name to Denver Tent Company, reflecting a change in manufacturing focus.

Denver Tent Company has been family owned since 2014. Prior to them, the company changed hands 2 times with different investment groups. The company was purchased by the current owners from the investment partners and have breathed life back into the company. They appreciate the wonderful history of the company and work tirelessly to keep the brand relevant. They believe in true craftmanship and the integrity of making high quality products.
