Adam Bravin's Recording Studio Fire

My name is Ivy Levan, my boyfriend is Adam Bravin.

Adam was recently in a horrible fire in the Hollywood complex where his

studio was located.

Adam narrowly escaped with his dog

Wall-E in his arms and an artist he was working with that day.

Tragically, a young man died in the fire and another tenant lost his four cats. The fire took almost 80 firefighters to put out and destroyed all the studios on the first floor.

Fortunately, Adam’s studio was on the second floor which did not burn. Unfortunately, his studio suffered massive smoke damage which has covered everything in black soot and

the smell of the thick black smoke he was forced to run through in fear for his life.

He has shared with me that it was the most terrifying experience he’s ever been through.

He has constant emotional and mental struggles throughout each day, triggered by

various sights, sounds, smells and memories. He has nightmares every night.

The most important thing is that his friend, his dog and Adam are all alive and

physically ok. We are both so grateful that they all made it out of there unharmed.

The equipment in Adam’s studio is insured.

That said, he is unsure what, if anything, can be  
recovered and saved, or what will be covered by insurance.
Additionally, there are personal items that will not be covered by insurance.
So many vintage pieces of gear,
racks of recording equipment, multiple instruments that he used on the first 
She Wants Revenge album, all of his DJ equipment,
all of his basses, guitars, and vintage synths…
essentially, all of the tools he has for
making music, recording, and DJ’ing.
Having said that, there are still things
that he needs in order to move forward, continue to work on music projects
he was in the middle of, and prepare for upcoming projects.

 

The funds raised will go towards:

 

Costs associated with mental health support, therapy and medical expenses not covered by Adam’s medical insurance.

 

Adam is having trouble being in rooms filled with fog, it’s triggering for him,

which is affecting his ability to DJ in some venues, so he needs help with

funds to pay some bills, rent, etc.

 

Costs associated with moving everything out of the burned building and putting it into a

storage space while Adam’s insurance carrier and various experts go through it

all and figure out what can be saved and what has been destroyed. It will have to

remain in storage until everything is sorted out and while everything that can be
salvaged is cleaned, so some of the funds will pay for the storage space rent.

 

A few months of rent for a new studio space when he finds one and the
costs associated with moving everything out of storage into the new studio.

 

Multiple pieces of gear in order to get up and running asap so he can return to making

music and continue working on everything that was interrupted by the fire.

 

New equipment for when he returns to DJ’ing again. (As all his equipment was in the studio).

 

New equipment in order to perform live music in the very near future.
