DOG ATTACK Emergency vet bills for Ruby's surgery

Hi, I'm Jane and I'm raising funds to pay for Ruby's emergency surgery. Ruby is a Yorkie x Jack Russel and the sweatiest natured dog. My son and I decided to go for a dog walk tonight and within less than 5 minutes was unexpectedly savagely attacked by an unsupervised Rottweiler that came out of the ungated property where it lives and latched otto my dog, ragging her about for several minutes resulting in serious injury. We had to try act quickly to attempt to stop the attack but nothing helped. The Rottweiler wouldn't let go while my poor dog screeched. I screamed for help and the owner who appeared severely drunk couldn't even speak let alone get his dog under control, he didn't immediately respond to my pleas for help and eventually muttered at his dog. I was in complete shock and it hadn't occurred to me at first he was drunk, I was confused why he wasn't trying to do more. He then attempted to unlock his dogs Jaws unsuccessfully. Eventually the dog released for a split second as it continued to tear at her flesh and I grabbed her away. By this time a few neighbours had come out (I was screaming very loud for help) and a kind lady took us into her home while another lady helped find an emergency vet. The police can't do anything at this stage and I need to contact the dog warden tomorrow but in the meantime we've had to pay £2000 (minimum, may be more yet) for her emergency surgery. The vet said she's high risk with severe bites and torn muscles with a large hernia.

She was going into shock as she was taken into surgery.

They need to ensure her intestines aren't punctured. We're all distraught and my poor son witnessed the attack.

The owner was slumped over his garden wall like nothing had happened. I doubt he'll even remember tomorrow he was so drunk and oblivious. Apparently this dog has attacked before.

Pleaee please help us pay for Ruby's surgery, we don't have a lot of money and had to use a credit card to pay upfront and so any help is much appreciated.

Ruby is my boys best friend and sleeps in their room. They're devastated.
