Oso is an almost 2-year-old Rottweiler puppy who recently tore his CCL. With NSAIDs, he has gained some ability to use his rear left leg a bit, but without treatment, he will be looking at having issues in his other rear leg, as well as pain and mobility issues for the rest of his life.
The vet has recommended a Unilateral TPLO, at nearly $6000. If you are not familiar with the process, it was explained to me as using a plate and some bone shaping in order to improve the stability of the knee without the CCL at all. It has a high success rate of dogs returning to their regular life after recovery, being able to run and jump and play, all things that Oso loves to do.
Oso is almost 2, born March 28th, 2024. He is very outgoing and loves meeting new dogs, but especially loves meeting people. He hasn't quite figured out how big he is and is guilty of giving a little bit too much attention to people.
Asking for help isn't easy for me to do, but I don't want to see this lil guy not have the opportunity to live out his fullest life. The risk of injuring his good knee and becoming mostly immobile is way too high for such a young dog, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
