Tomball Man Turns Home Into a Christmas Wonderland — All for a Good Cause

TOMBALL, Texas — Every December, one Tomball resident proves that you don’t need children of your own to create magic for hundreds of others. At 41 years old, Lance White has become a quiet hometown legend, transforming his property into a dazzling “Christmas Wonderland” that draws families from across the community.

Lance is referred to as Mr. Grinch or Mr. G by neighbors. Mr. G is a single resident with a big heart and an even bigger love for the holidays, spends weeks preparing his home for the season. His front yard bursts with life—bright lights, whimsical décor, and an impressive collection of Grinch-themed displays that have become a local favorite. Neighbors say his house doesn’t just shine; it glows with the kind of cheer that makes even the grinchiest visitor grin.

But this year, Mr. G has taken his wonderland a step further. His driveway has been reimagined as a “good ole Texas Christmas tree farm,” complete with themed trees lining both sides, creating a festive walkway where visitors can wander through and enjoy a variety of holiday scenes. From classic Christmas nostalgia to creative Texas twists, each tree offers its own moment of joy.

Residents often ask Lance how they can support his efforts, and for the second year in a row, he’s giving them a way to do just that. He is once again accepting donations for Texas Children’s Hospital, transforming holiday happiness into meaningful impact.

In true Lance White fashion, he’s added a touch of humor to the process. A witty Grinch poem—written by Mr. Grinch himself—is displayed prominently in the yard, inviting visitors to drop donations into Santa’s mailbox set beside it.

Community members say the combination of creativity, generosity, and Texas-sized charm makes White’s home a must-see stop of the season. Many hope more eyes—and cameras—will turn his way to help reach his goal of $4,000 for Texas Children’s Hospital.

“We’d love to have a news team come out, share Lance’s incredible spirit, and help spread the word about his cause,” one friend said. “He brings so much joy to our area, and supporting Texas Children’s Hospital makes it even better.”

For now, Mr. G is busy keeping the lights bright and the smiles brighter—one Grinch, one tree, and one donation at a time.
