Melissa's Journey to Rebuild
Donation protected
TLDR: This gofundme has multiple donation paths, and it isn’t an easy story to share. If that’s all you need to know, there are 3 ways to help: 1. Financially (here on GoFundMe) 2. Patronage (by commissioning art, here ) 3. Spreading the word (like, comment, share). If you want the gory details, here you go:
2024 began with the unexpected end of a six-year relationship and subsequently going from having the financial support of a two-income household to one very suddenly. As a full-time single mom, Melissa suddenly found herself navigating the financial fallout of this on her own, after spending years supporting someone who turned out to be not who she thought they were. She lost her savings, her car, and is now struggling with her housing situation.
The difficult situation has also taken a toll on her daughter.. Despite Melissa’s best efforts to protect her from the impact of it all, it’s becoming harder every day. Though she is safe and cared for, seeing her mother struggle first hand has been difficult and unfair to her. Without a vehicle, and facing dwindling housing choices, the time has come to ask for help.
Those of you who know Melissa likely know well that she is independent, generous, and practical. It is no easy thing for her to find herself in this situation, much less to practice the kind of humility this requires. If you have anything to give her, she would appreciate it more than you know…as she has reached a point where the kindness of relative strangers may be the only thing that separates her from even harder choices. If you can’t contribute, please know she understands-times are impossible for so many. Spreading the word and vouching for the validity of her need is a cherished contribution if you feel so inclined.
