Querida familia, amigos, colegas y todas las personas de buen corazón que seguimos de pie enfrentando lo complicado de la vida:

Hoy nos acercamos a ustedes con el corazón en la mano, llenos de esperanza, pero también con una angustia profunda.

Nuestro pequeño Luca tiene apenas 4 añitos. Quienes tienen la dicha de conocerlo saben que es un niño lleno de luz, de simpatía y travesuras, con una sonrisa que ilumina cualquier lugar y unas ganas inmensas de vivir. A pesar de todo lo que ha tenido que enfrentar en los últimos meses dentro de un hospital, su espíritu y su ternura siguen intactos; él nos enseña todos los días lo que significa ser un verdadero guerrero que solo quiere vivir, jugar y volver hacer todas esas cosas que para el resto son comunes.

Como muchos saben, Luca ha estado luchando valientemente. El año pasado recibió su primer trasplante de médula ósea, en el cual pusimos toda nuestra fe y nuestras fuerzas. Sin embargo, la vida nos puso la prueba más dura: lamentablemente, su cuerpecito no logró sostener el injerto. Hoy, sus defensas están agotadas y su vida depende, de manera urgente y absoluta, de un segundo trasplante de médula ósea. Es su única oportunidad para sanar y poder crecer.

Como sus papás, daríamos nuestra propia vida y todo lo que tenemos por curarlo y quitarle todo este peso de encima. Lo hemos dado todo, pero hoy tenemos que ser vulnerables y pedir ayuda. Este largo y doloroso camino nos ha rebasado por completo, tanto emocional como económicamente. Los meses de hospitalización ininterrumpida, los estudios y los cuidados intensivos han agotado nuestros recursos. Hoy nos encontramos muy complicados frente al costo de esta nueva oportunidad de vida que nuestro hijo necesita con tanta desesperación.

Por eso te pedimos ayuda. Sabemos que son tiempos difíciles para todos, pero cualquier aportación, por más pequeña que parezca, es un ladrillo más para construir el puente que le salvará la vida a Luca. Cada aportación nos acerca a ese trasplante y a la posibilidad de verlo sano, corriendo y riendo de nuevo.

Today, we’re reaching out with our hearts in our hands—filled with hope, but also a heavy sense of urgency.

Our little Luca is only 4 years old. Anyone who’s had the joy of meeting him knows he’s a child full of light, charm, and a bit of mischief. He has a smile that brightens any room and an incredible will to live. Despite everything he’s been through over the last few months in the hospital, his spirit and sweetness haven't changed. Every day, he shows us what it means to be a true warrior—a little boy who just wants to live, play, and get back to the simple things most people take for granted.

As many of you know, Luca has been fighting so hard. Last year, he had his first bone marrow transplant, something we put all our faith and strength into. But life has given us our toughest test yet: his little body wasn't able to hold onto the graft. Today, his immune system is exhausted, and his life depends—urgently and absolutely—on a second transplant. It is his only chance to heal and to grow up.

As his parents, we would give our own lives and everything we own to heal him and take this weight off his shoulders. We’ve given it everything we have, but today we have to be vulnerable and ask for help. This long, painful journey has completely overwhelmed us, both emotionally and financially. Months of constant hospital stays, specialized tests, and intensive care have drained our resources. We are now in a very difficult position trying to cover the cost of this new chance at life that our son so desperately needs.

That’s why we’re asking for your help. We know times are tough for everyone, but any contribution, no matter how small, is another brick in the bridge that will save Luca’s life. Every bit brings us closer to that transplant—and to the chance of seeing him healthy, running, and laughing again.
