Let’s FIGHT Ewing’s Sarcoma Together!

Thank you for taking a moment to read this story.

In May 2022, I was casually scrolling through Facebook (as you do) when I came across a recently shared GoFundMe page. I immediately opened the link and began to read the story of a 21-year-old woman from Bolton (our local town and a relative of a very close friend) who had sadly lost her battle of fighting Ewing’s Sarcoma.

It’s safe to say this story hit home…

I began to then look into what Ewing’s Sarcoma was and who it effects.

Ewing sarcoma is a cancer formed in bone or soft tissue. The legs (often around the knee), pelvis, arms, ribs and spine are the main areas affected by Ewing sarcoma. Affected bones may also be weaker and more likely to break; some people are diagnosed after they have a fracture.

It then became apparent that children, teenagers and young adults are one high-risk group and, like ourselves, have never heard of this disease.

We have made it our mission to spread the word and help raise public awareness of this horrible cancer by doing the Manchester 10K Tough Mudder in October 2022 in support of Ewing’s Sarcoma.
