Jordan Valley Honor Star

Who We Are:

The Jordan Valley Honor Star is a joint project between EJ Art Walk and the East Jordan Public School's Welding class.

Now heading into its third year, the Jordan Art Walk, with 14 spectacular sculptures prominently displayed in Memorial and Sportsman’s Parks, is asking you to be a part of a special sculpture project. The magnificent “Jordan” the swan sculpture was created last year by our East Jordan High School Welding class students under the direction and guidance of their teacher Dave Muladore and Artist in Residence Ann Gildner. We want to continue this priceless “hands-on learning” again this school year at East Jordan High School. We need your financial support to purchase materials, supplies and to cover other costs to create another memorable public piece of lasting art.

Our Project:

This year’s sculpture in honor of our military veterans will become a “community landmark” upon completion and dedication next year in June. The welding class will be making a 9 foot star to honor our Veterans. Work needs to start in October to complete the sculpture by that time. Our students are anxious to get started! Mr. Muladore has scheduled time for his welding students to work on this special project, along with their other requirements for the class. Ann Gildner is excited to help the EJHS students once again. Ann is a teacher, welder, fabricator and artist at the Onaway Industrial Arts Institute. We are seeking funding and plan to pursue multiple outlets to fund the Honor Star.

We Need Your Help:

Your help is greatly appreciated! We look forward to building the Jordan Valley Honor Star. The total project cost is $10,000, which will cover materials, design and placement of the sculpture.
