John Phare Memorial Fund

Donation protected
With heavy hearts we learned  of Roberts Creek resident John Phare who lost his life battling the Sechelt forest fire on July 5th.  As a tree faller John was accustomed to risking his life but in mixing that profession with forest fire fighting, he took on especially deadly risks for the sake of his community.  This tragedy is compounded by the fact that John was to walk his stepdaughter down the aisle next week and marry his fiance later this year.

Although we at Embellish do not know John or his family, his story has touched us deeply.  We have since learned that John was very well liked and highly regarded by those who knew him in our small community.  In hopes of showing our gratitude for his efforts and to show our appreciation and respect, we have started a Memorial Fund for John's family to assist them during this difficult time.

John is survived by 3 children, 2 brothers, 4 sisters and his fiance.  We have set up a collection at Embellish Emporium in Gibsons if you prefer to drop off or mail donations/cards to the family.  While a portion of the funds raised through this website is withheld for their fees, 100% of the funds brought into the store will be forwarded to the family.
