Help Activists Weather the Storm of FBI Attack

Overview:
Derek and Isabel are activists who have always stood for the rights of all humans worldwide in a time when so many are turning inward and becoming self centered and apathetic to the struggles of others. They have organized around eradicating anti-blackness, anti-immigrant xenophobia, classism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, theft of indigenous land and freedom, food scarcity, the evils of incarceration, and the overall destruction of the environment and human unity. Due to their radical expression of these truths, the FBI and local police labelled them, specifically Derek a 'threat' to the police, and for that, they bust down their door on May 28th in a no-knock raid that they were lucky to survive. The FBI, armed with military rifles, flashbang grenades, and a battering ram not only terrified us, but our neighbors and our community. This was entirely excessive and a hyper violent response to alleged threats. They stole 11 thousand dollars between Derek and our roommate who wasn't involved at all, all of our personal electronics, our peace of mind and life security, and took Derek to a jail where there was a current COVID outbreak. Talk about a threat to someone's life, right? As Derek and Isabel are also involved with on ground organizing, in which they have worked very hard to promote peace, build a new future, and expose injustices, we believe this was a move to silence someone trying to make a difference.
Activist Targeting:
Unfortunately, this is nothing new. Derek is a multiracial leader who can speak to the crossroads of this stolen land's origin, as they are black, white, and native american. Given the FBI and police involvement with COINTELPRO, the slaughter of Native peoples whether they resisted to the theft of land or attempted to be peaceful, MLK’s assassination, discrediting and killing Black Panthers leaders such as Fred Hampton, murdering Sandra Bland, the Ferguson organizers who were mysteriously found dead, and many other devastating attacks on the black and native community for voicing their concerns about their condition, we believe Derek is in ACTUAL danger from this situation. They have faced targeting and harassment from local police, but this is a different level. They can put us in a cage, take away our material possessions, or even attempt to kill us but they can never take our minds, our energy of love, or our soul. We will persist, and even more, we will never stoop to their levels of hatred.

Overblown Cannabis Charges:
Because labeling someone a threat over social media posts is ridiculous, and since Derek is very careful with their words when speaking about systemic issues, they added on overblown cannabis charges to ensure they could get Derek into the system as a convicted felon on something. If you know anything about cannabis criminalization, you know it was a racist move by the government to target black and brown youth. It is also on the way to complete legalization, and there are many rich folks who are making millions of dollars off the substance, which makes the possible imprisonment of Derek even more hypocritical. Lastly, the evidence collected wasn't even enough for a state felony, so for them to be facing federal felony charges is blasphemy, and even more proof that this was an attempt to stifle Derek at a time when experienced, dedicated voices committed to REAL justice and change are so desperately needed.

Where The Help Will Go:
We need help mitigating the struggle of living in a pandemic with no jobs and no home, as we are living with friends right now. Derek and Isabel are going through a lot mentally and emotionally, as well as financially, as the FBI stole our entire savings as a part of their 'investigation'(targeted silencing of activists). We would appreciate help to get back on our feet while we search for jobs. The market isn't good right now, and there has been much discrimination against Derek as they face these charges.
Isabel has worked very hard for her excellent credit score(almost 800 at the ripe old age of 22), and because of this lockdown and theft, had no way to access or make payments for her bills on her laptop. This has taken a huge hit, and because all of our money is gone, we are struggling to keep up.
This money will go to paying for food for us and our three dogs, helping Isabel maintain the payments on her bills, possible rent fees, and any associated legal fees.
We aren't just asking for financial help for our personal lives, we also had big aspirations on helping the world progress into a new age of peace. We wished to produce children's books and educational materials related to agriculture, anti-racism, conflict resolution, and overall societal unity, as Isabel is an amazing visual artist, and Derek is a talented poet. Along with this, we also wish to use our gifts to produce magazines, art pieces, and music. We were finally ready to produce this art, as we had just acquired most of the equipment to do so in May, but unfortunately they took all of this as well with our electronics. This also contributed to why we believe this attack was an attempt to silence us.
Not only is this information greatly needed right now, it is a way for us to give back the love and unity anyone who donates gives us.
