Rinelle Harper Faces Homelessness

Donation protected
Rinelle Harper captured Canadians' attention in November 2014 when she survived a vicious beating and sexual assault that nearly killed her.  A month later she addressed the Assembly of First Nations where she asked that everyone remember the importance of love, kindness, respect and forgiveness, and called for a national inquiry into missing and murdered Indigenous women.  Months on Ms. Harper is still recovering from her injuries (in fact, she underwent surgery today), but, due to a series of misfortunes inluding her family's summer home burning down (for more details, please see Gordon Sinclair's recent article So chief, where are you now? No help for Rinelle in her time of need at http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/local/so-chief-where-are-you-now-318523121.html ), she and her family may soon be without a home.   Rinelle Harper needs a stable place to continue to heal and her family needs a break.  Taking to heart Rinelle's call for love, kindness and respect, I've started this campaign with the idea of providing the Harper family a year's worth of rent in the hope that they can get back on their feet.  If we can surpass the goal of $13,000, all the better since that amount doesn't include the cost of utilities or food.  And remember, while that may seem like a huge amount of money, if we all pitch in, we can raise it.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMPASSION!
