Help Us Give Our Beautiful Friend Lisa More Time ❤️
Our beautiful lifelong friend, Lisa Paul (LP), we grew up with in Mountcastle and attended Portobello High School together, was diagnosed with cervical cancer in October 2025
The news came as an unimaginable shock, and heartbroken to be writing this today.
Back in 2012 , Lisa had bravely battled breast cancer and won. Since then, she had gone on to live a happy, healthy and adventurous life, doing what she loved most – travelling the world, making unforgettable memories, and making lifelong friends wherever she went.
If you’ve ever had the privilege of knowing Lisa, you’ll understand why everyone loves her. She is one of those rare people who lights up every room she walks into. Her smile is infectious, her heart is full of kindness, and her personality shines so brightly that it’s impossible not to be drawn to her. She is loving, caring, compassionate, endlessly positive, and always puts everyone else before herself. The world truly is a better place because Lisa is in it.
Then, in October 2025, everything changed.
Lisa was told that cancer had returned, this time as cervical cancer. Soon afterwards came even more devastating news: it had spread to her liver, stomach, pelvis, and hip bone marrow.
Despite everything, Lisa has faced every challenge with incredible courage, strength and determination. She has undergone several rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy at The Western General Hospital Cancer Centre in Edinburgh, and we will always be grateful for the outstanding care, compassion and support the NHS has given her throughout this journey.
Heartbreakingly, we have now been told that there are no further treatment options available for Lisa through the NHS, and her prognosis is devastating and sadly just has a matter of months.
But we are not ready to give up.
Lisa has always been a positive person and a true fighting warrior. She has faced every battle with strength, bravery and determination, and she won’t go down without a fight.
There are newer, more advanced cancer treatments available in other parts of the world that may offer hope when standard treatment options have come to an end. Unfortunately, these treatments are not available through the NHS and come with overwhelming costs.
That is why we are asking for your help.
Every single donation, no matter how big or small, will go towards giving Lisa the opportunity to explore these potentially life-extending treatments. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing her story could reach someone who can. Every share, every message and every act of kindness really does make a difference.
Lisa has spent her life bringing happiness, laughter and love to everyone around her. ❤️
Now it’s our turn to stand beside her and fight for her.
She is far too young, with far too much life still to live, far too many adventures still to experience, and far too many Giovanni suppers and Morrisons veggie breakfasts still to enjoy with the people who love her.
We want to give her every possible chance.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity and support. Whether you donate, share this page, or simply keep Lisa in your thoughts, it means more than words can ever say.
Let’s help give Lisa hope.
Let’s help give her more time. ❤️
And, as Lisa would say with that beautiful smile and determination…
“Barry pal… LP’s going nowhere!” ❤️
love you wee pal.
Twice the love. Always. ❤️❤️
