Help reunite missing Dogs

On the 4th September I'll be running the 'Paras' 10;
“The PARAS’10 is a 10 mile endurance race based on The Parachute Regiment’s 10 miler from selection at the end of training. During test week, recruits are assessed and scored across 8 separate events. The 10 mile march is the first event and is conducted over undulating terrain with each man carrying a bergen weighing 35lbs plus water and a weapon. The march must be completed in 1 hour 50 minutes and it is this event that forms the basis of the PARAS’10.”
I'll be running it as the Paras' do, (unfortunately without weapon) with the 35lb bergen, in boots and trousers and my aim is to complete it in the 1hr 50mins Para selection time.
Initially this was purely a personal goal, however it's become apparent it is also an opportunity for me to raise both awareness and hopefully funds, for a group of volunteers I think do important work, Canine Capture UK.
Some know I've been involved in tracking and trapping lost dogs for a couple of years, it's how Dusty came into the family. I found him as a stray with a broken leg, and once I discovered his previous home life, I made steps to prevent him from going back to that place and adopted him.
When a dog goes missing it can be heartbreaking to the family involved. CCUK travel the country, spend long nights, often back to back to bring a dog home, using specialist, expensive equipment.
Canine Capture UK, are the very best group I've worked with, they really are the elite. They have brought dogs home that have been missing for YEARS.

Dog lover or not, seeing a family reunited with their dog is an emotional moment, even more so when you have been part of the effort to reunite them.
