Cavey Pete Needs Our Help!! On Saturday, August 9, 2025, our friend and athlete extraordinaire was on a bicycle ride on Lizard Head when tragedy struck. After grinding to the top of the pass, Pete turned around to enjoy the downhill. Reaching typically 50mph top speed, a small deer jumped in front of him, stopping him in his tracks. Pete hit the deer and woke up in the back of the Telluride ambulance. Thanks to the quick reaction of friend Josh Geeter, pictured, he found Pete crumpled on the highway. His injuries are extensive: broken clavicle, broken pelvis, and broken ribs. The road to recovery is long. He is in rehab in Montrose. Please consider donating to our friend. Pete has been doing great the last few years, transitioning from caretaker of the Valley Floor to now working at Valentine Farm. He has the heart of a lion. Please support this local athletic specimen in his recovery.
