Help Junk Food Bakery Rise Again After Fire

On 5/29/26, a power line fell from our building (a building we share and connect to the Tiny Turtle) and lit up their tiki huts. The fire burned bright and spread to our roof- melting the weather guards and power box. The bakery sustained significant damages- not to the building itself but to the business.

When our power box blew, it turned off our AC, and cut power to all appliances leaving $10,000 in back stock product in our coolers to spoil. The police and fire fighters deemed the building unsafe and did not allow us to use a generator to keep our SIX fridges and freezers running.

This was all product that takes weeks to make and fill the six fridges/freezers we have. We lost everything in 12 hours.

We are a very busy bakery with a heavy workload. We supply wholesale to local businesses, take on up to six weddings a weekend and make every single thing from scratch. From to our jam to our coffee syrups.

I opened this bakery 4 years ago and we were the only bakery in Cocoa Beach. We have provided a beautiful service to our locals and I have ran it alone for 4 years up until my partner quit his job recently to help me keep up. Junk Food Bakery is both of our livelihoods and it will cost us around $25-$30k to get back up and running efficiently.

If you know me, you know that asking for help is incredibly hard but I feel I have no choice. I have always been the “help” to everyone else. Dropping everything for someone in need. Taking on emotional burdens from others, fixing problems that aren’t mine. But now I am in need and I am devastated to even have to ask in this current economy.

I work 80 hour weeks, on my feet, every week in just 5 days to support the bakery, my amazing staff and to deliver you the absolute best product I can.

Thank you to all my local friends, family, customers and amazing community for reaching out and asking how you can help. Anything you give will make a difference to me. I know times are tough and I’d never ask otherwise.

The plan is to open back up as soon as we can with some positive changes! It’s a bummer for now but I know change is coming and with your help, it will make the blow less hard.

All of my love,
L
