Help Eric become soil (that you will get to keep)

Hey : )

Eric Nills Dunn (aka E, E Boy, Mr. Dunn, Dunn, Dunny, or as he called himself E.N.D) left us on Wednesday August 4th. He was gardening in the back yard with his best friend, doing what he loved, when he died of a heart attack.

E would semi-frequently go on about his death wishes. He was always concerned about becoming a burden, didn't want to take up space in a cemetery, or even pollute the air through cremation. Eric would talk about wanting to have his remains planted under a tree so he could fuel the growth of new life (also worth noting, the night before he died, while with two of his best friends, he went on about wanting to become shrooms in death, which may be possible, but for now we'll have to focus on the former). Well, putting his body straight in the ground and planting a tree atop it would be,, difficult and illegal,,, but I (his son, Zolt) knew his wishes regarding his death had to be realized. Luckily, as it turns out, in this year of our lord 2021, Natural Organic Reduction (or human composting) has just become legal in 3 states. Unfortunately none of these states are California, nor does the closest state, Oregon, have a facility built yet. Fortunately, the sole facility in the United States which is able to return our loved ones to their nutrients to grow new life, just recently opened near Seattle, WA, and actually has room.

I realized that taking Eric through the Recompose process is the best (and only) way to give my father (exactly) what he wanted. Through this process, not only can his body be generative in death, but the new life that he nurtures and grows can be shared by us all. At the end of Eric's natural reduction, his body will have generated a literal truckload (1 cubic yard) of soil. Eric (obviously) would have wanted us all to be able to have a portion of that soil, and with it, to nurture new life in any way we see fit. In addition Klai (ex-wife and mother of his child) a potter, will be helping to make urns/pots for this soil.

We hope to get a piece of this new life to as many of Eric's accomplices as possible. As is turns out, this will be expensive, E must be sent to WA for the process, and the soil he creates (a Cubic Yard) will have to be shipped back and properly distributed. The process alone is $5,500 with transportation costs too and fro being what they would, which isn't necessarily inexpensive :( We'd love to ask for your help in ensuring that Eric gets to take up space as a plant in your space! The soil will be very nutrient rich and great for growing all sorts of "crops," which he would love >:)
