Help Brittany Fair (Klomp) with Medical Costs

Donation protected
My name is Ariel Allman and I am creating this GoFundMe page for my friend Brittany Fair (previously Klomp).  Twenty-one years ago, at the age of seven, she was diagnosed with a rare type of brain cancer called Pilomyxoid Astrocytoma.  She was one of the first children in the United States to be diagnosed with this extremely rare tumor type.   Because of this, she needs to be overseen by specialized medical teams due to the unknowns of this disease.  Brittany will be undergoing many upcoming procedures that will not be covered by insurance (see more details below).  Over the last twenty-one years, this tumor has never gone away and has remained in her brain all these years.

Currently, the tumor is acting up and growing. Moreover, it is inoperable because it is wrapped around her brainstem as well as all her cranial nerves.

Even though she has been subjected to uncountable obstacles she continued to work hard over the years and has completed her master’s degree and even made the Dean’s List throughout college and graduate school.  Soon after, she started her dream career as a school counselor and recently got married.

Just when everything seemed to be going her way, she is suddenly met with another hurdle involving her tumor, once again.   After twenty brain surgeries and a year and a half of chemotherapy, one might think that she would be done with the worries of cancer; however, once again, she will need to go back on chemotherapy starting this June.
With all of this being said, I created this GoFundMe page to hopefully alleviate Brittany and her husband’s stress as a newly married couple.  The stressors include:

1)      Travel and medical expenses back and forth to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.  This is where Brittany's rare tumor type was discovered in 1999. This institution is still the top experts in the country on the Pilomyxoid tumor type.
2)      Travel and medical expenses to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where she goes for treatment locally.
3)      Loss of income due to Brittany being unable to work while she is immunocompromised. This will force her and Caleb to pay out of pocket for her health insurance which is extremely expensive.
4)      Currently, Brittany is freezing her eggs to protect her future fertility. Johns Hopkins informed Caleb and Brittany that she will not be able to carry her own children due to that it will lead to further tumor growth. A surrogate will be needed when the time comes for them to have children of their own.

Brittany has always been there for her friends and family and has always put the needs of others first despite her condition and life situation. She is always the first one to ask how you are doing and how she can pray for you.  The least I can do is try to help her the best way I can.

Please help us reach our goal and give Brittany the support she needs and let her know that she can rest easy knowing that she won’t need to face this alone.

Please also keep Brittany's healing in your daily prayers.
