Help Beverley Church Hogan-- Mudslide Damaged Home

On February 4, 2024, a huge mudslide began rushing from the hillside through their neighborhood damaging 9 homes, including Beverley's. Part of this horrible mudslide, containing several large boulders, came quickly down and directly hit Beverley's house.

In her own words: "We had 2 minutes to get out of our house last night! That flow of mud you see flowing down from Mulholland caught by a flying drone went crashing thru’ our house and house next door! Our street got hit very hard-- evacuating 9 houses! I actually heard a bomb go off in house twice while cleaning my teeth ready for bed ! At first I actually thought we had been hit by actual bombs!!!! Turns out the biggest boulders were going through our walls with a mountain of flowing mud.. pushing furniture et al from Guest room across our hall to master bedroom! Unbelievable! It will be months and months before we can move back in. My 3 pups were terrified! Fire fighters came and saved us!"

With the coming storms, it is very apparent that several of the remaining hillside boulders will be coming directly towards her home and very likely making the house unfixable. Luckily, Beverley, her husband, and their three dogs are safe and now in a rented house after staying in several temporary situations.

As we were setting this account up, Beverley and her husband were informed by their insurance company that there will be NO INSURANCE ASSISTANCE and that all costs are on them. They have been insured by this company for more than 50 years and their claim has been totally denied! THIS IS DEVASTATING NEWS!!

So, in addition to the short-term costs of moving their belongings so quickly, renting a home (including the high deposits and the extra pet premiums), they are seeking help towards the ongoing costs of whatever might come regarding their damaged house, which will be substantial.
