Ryan Edward Tarsey
November 17, 1990 - March 15, 2026
On March 15, 2026 at 7:15pm (our time) Ryan took his last breath in San Jose, Costa Rica resting peacefully in the ICU of Hospital Mexico.
We have had a lot of people reach out to ask for updates on Ryan.. we don’t have all the answers to everybody’s questions all we know is that we are completely heartbroken. Thank you everybody who has messaged, shared and donated.
Please be respectful, and please give us as a family some time.. we are all struggling to process the most unnatural way he left this earth.UPDATE, Thurs March 12: Ryan is in the neurological unit of Hospitsl México. He is in a medically induced coma.
UPDATE, Wed March 11: Ryan has been admitted to Hospital México in San Jose, Costa Rica. He is still in critical condition. He took himself off the ventilator meaning he took the tube out himself. He also had a central line that was placed in his neck which he has also ripped out. He now has developed pneumonia. He is still heavily sedated and being given lots of drugs to keep him calm, as well as being given antibiotics. His brain bleed is still active but not getting any worse, the doctors are waiting for it to heal which takes awhile. He unfortunately is very confused, he’s not speaking and he really struggles to open his eyes. we do our best to reassure him that there’s so many people that care and are doing their best to help. Currently, we are trying to wait it out until he is able to safely fly without needing a air ambulance because it is completely unaffordable. We are needing to up the donation asking amount so we can afford to pay the hospital bills for all his procedures, lab work, and stay in the hospital. We want so badly to get him home, but we need to wait until it is medically safe to do so. Thank you so much for all the shares, donations and messsges. We see them all and wish we could reply to all of you. If you have the means, please donate.
Hi everyone, my name is Breanna Fife and I am starting this go fund me in hopes to gather as much help as I can for my brother in law, Ryan Tarsey.
On Friday, March 6 Ryan was involved in a accident while on vacation with his brother (Devan) and friends. Ryan was transferred to a local hospital in Tamarindo where he received an x ray, and the result of that was a fractured skull. He then was transferred to a hospital in Santa Cruz where they did a CT scan showing brain swelling as well as a bruise on his brain. Ryan was then transferred again to a hospital in San Jose where he remains stable, sedated and intubated and in critical condition.
Right now Ryan is currently stuck in Costa Rica undergoing many tests and procedures to figure out the extent of his injuries. We are trying to get him home to us to receive the medical attention he needs, here at home. Ryan cannot travel without medical escort, and an air ambulance from Costa Rica to toronto is extremely expensive.
Unfortunately, Ryan did not have travel insurance and hospital bills are piling up. A air ambulance to get him home cost anywhere from $70,000-$100,000
We are asking as his family if you’re able to donate anything. It is extremely appreciated. His family loves him, and his daughter wants nothing more than to have her dad back home.
