As many of you know, our dear friend Emma-Rose passed away on March 3, 2024. Emma was someone who brought joy and laughter to those around her in all that she did. Whether it was gathering with her friends and family, attending concerts, driving around, being on the water, camping, fishing or scaring us with her Halloween doll, Emma had the ability to connect, love and laugh with so many. Emma was unique with an infectious laugh. She had a bright energy that stood out to even those who didn’t know her well.
From her earlier years, Emma captivated her peers with her charm and magnetic personality. In elementary school, Emma’s classmates were vying for the privilege of sitting next to her at lunch. They had to take turns each day to sit next to her. Emma’s influence only grew as she matured, exemplified by her fashion choices, such as being the first to sport a nose ring in our school. Another memorable occasion was when she confidently strode into our 7th grade social studies class wearing knee-high pleather boots, unapologetically embracing her unique style and individuality. Emma’s unwavering confidence in who she was and fearless spirit made her the influencer of the 90’s! Emma didn’t care what was cool because she determined what was cool!
Emma loved hard and felt things deeply, yet it also made the pain of heartbreak all the more poignant for her, like she gave all her love away. She found solace in the written word and in music, keeping a journal filled with her heartfelt poetry and cherished music lyrics. Emma immersed herself in the music she loved.
While Emma will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, her passing leaves a profound void, especially for her two beloved children. Of all the roles she played in life, Emma held her role as a mother closest to her heart. She cherished every moment spent adventuring with her children, their bond a testament to her unwavering love and dedication.
To honor Emma, her friends have set up a fund to support her children. These resources will be used to help with ongoing expenses and education, with the goal of ensuring they are well taken care of and reach their full potential. We are incredibly grateful for whatever you might be able to give, and for your support of Emma’s family during this tragic time.
The seed money for the fund has been provided with a gift of $2001.00 from the class of 2001. We hope to raise additional funds in individual contributions.
Though Emma's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and her love will endure in the hearts of those who knew her.
