The Harrison Family
Donation protected
Some of you may know the struggle that Lauren Harrison has been battling since her diagnosis of Polycystic Kidney Disease. Lauren is currently going to be having surgery at The Ohio State Hospital and is going to have her one remaining kidney removed in October. She will then be placed on dialysis for a couple weeks while she heals. Our father, Larry Cotterman, will be donating one of his healthy kidneys to Lauren in hopes of helping her live a long, healthy, and fulfilling life.
Lauren is 25 years young. Anyone who meets her knows right away that she is someone very special. Lauren is a loving wife, devoted mother, the best sister, and an amazing daughter. Though it would be understandable for her to be sad or bitter, Lauren has faced this battle head-on from day one. She has never backed down, never asked why, or shown signs of self-pity. I believe that she has had such strength because of her faith in God, which is something she and Zach share. Both are active members of the LACC Church in New Carlisle.
Additionally, Lauren and Zach are new parents to a beautiful and healthy baby girl named Layla Kay Harrison. They are so thrilled to be new parents and are already doing a fantastic job. However, with all of the medical expenses they have incurred in the past year, the stresses they face day-to-day is more than anyone can put into words. Due to the extended medical leave that Lauren has had to endure, she will be losing her job at Kettering Medical Center, along with all of her health benefits within a matter of days. For anyone who does not know, the recovery time for a transplant is upwards or 12 months. This is the reason we are reaching out to our family and friends for help in funding just a small portion of the financial burden this new family has to face. We would greatly appreciate anyone offering support in any way they can. Thank you for all of your time, love, and support in this difficult time, and please keep Lauren in your thoughts and prayers. She is very special to us.
