Donate to help the family of Jonatan Preito

A Jiu Jitsu club is no stranger to saying goodbye to people. From health and family commitments to many other circumstances which culminates in people stepping away from the mats. The initial spark that draws someone to learn the art is a special thing, and something that we can all relate to.

November last year, we welcomed Jonatan into the club. He was with us for 4 months, but he brought warmth, levity and an infectious energy that permeated our club.

In late August this year, a mere 5 months after ending his training with us, we were deeply shocked and saddened to learn that Jonatan had taken his own life.

We aren’t the club to make a noise over our individual beliefs, welcoming and respecting all. Some causes however, are important enough to do something about.

November is Men’s Mental Health awareness month. We are proud to announce that we will be having a 24hr “roll-a-thon”, on the 26&27/11/22 in memory of Jonatan.

All funds raised go directly to Jonatan’s wife & young family.

The club will be open from 10am-10am, all are welcome.

BJJ can help with mental health. It’s widely documented that the art has helped many with depression, addiction, crime etc and its something we are passionate about at San Tsuru.

We are here as a listening ear, and as a safe space for people to offload burdens, and to channel them into positivity .

We couldn’t reach Jonatan, but, we’ll help him now as best we can, and support his family as best we can.
