Donate to help Matt at 14 Records Leamington Spa

Anyone who is part of the Warwickshire music scene cannot be unaware of Matt and Gemma at 14 Records. We’ve all rehearsed, recorded and been lucky enough to benefit from their amazing facilities, skills, encouragement and generosity. I recently shared a clip of track they asked me to record with them last year. The quality of their recordings is second to none and Matt is such an unbelievably talented musician, engineer, producer and visionary. Gemma’s vocal skills are also off the scale, but it’s so much more than that. We’ve all had the experience of the famous kitchen with Gemma shouting, “Come in a have a cup of tea, we’ve got cake!!”

Some of us owe them our livelihoods as we have had our businesses rescued by their overwhelming generosity. They are a complete force of nature and have welcomed us all in as part of their family. I, as many others, treasure their friendship; admire their talent and their complete dedication to music, the community and to each other.

I am so profoundly saddened about Gemma’s terminal illness and that Matt has been unable to work at the studio because he’s been nursing her and looking after the family. Matt is understandably, utterly heartbroken. He will support Gemma to the last and I know that there are so many of us that would do anything to save her and spare the family this hideous pain. I know I’m not alone in bitterly regretting that we cannot do this.

Something we can do for them is to help keep the studio afloat until such time as Matt can throw himself back into being the magnificent creative force that he is.

That is why I’m launching this GoFundMe appeal to raise £3000 to help pay the bills and keep 14 Records open whilst Matt is nursing Gemma. I know I’m not the only one to feel like this. If we all give £10, £20, £50 or as much as we can, 14 Records will stay open, and in a while, we’ll make some amazing music with Matt, in Gemma’s honour.
