Clearfield Skatepark

Donation protected

My name is Dalton Kendrick and I volunteer with the Clearfield Skatepark Committee.  We are asking for financial help as we work to revitalize our aging skatepark.  Your donations will help us achieve our goal of creating a family-friendly space that supports our youth through a healthy and creative recreational activity.

We are asking for donations of any amount to help fund maintenance, improvements, and expansion projects at the Clearfield Skatepark in Clearfield, PA.

The Clearfield Skatepark was established as a free public skatepark in the Spring of 2002 to provide a place for individuals of all ages to enjoy skateboarding, bicycling, scootering, inlining, and roller skating. Originally developed by local volunteers looking to transform old tennis courts, the park saw a boom in the early 2000s through the construction of various wood ramps that were funded by grants and donations. Over the last few years, weathering and the age of the ramps led to irreparable damage and the majority of the ramps had been deconstructed to avoid unsafe riding conditions.

Last year, The Clearfield Skatepark Committee was established as a recreational committee under the Clearfield Borough. The committee’s goals are to revitalize the park, replace the deteriorating wooden ramps, provide a space for creative and athletic expression, and to offering opportunities to mentor the local youth through action sports.

The committee has currently established a 5-year plan that includes a redesign of the park, community events, and projects to create a unique, safe, and sustainable park. We are currently in the middle of phase one, removing the non-salvageable ramps and constructing three new ramps. To complete phase one, we will be adding a new mini-ramp, a spine ramp, and an A-frame ramp to complete a new section of the park. This section will be expanded upon over the next four years as we work to add 2 to 3 ramps each year until the park is complete.

As we start the construction portion of phase one, we need additional funding to help purchase materials or prefabricated ramps to help realize our design. Throughout the last year, we have raised money through events, grants, and donations. With the increased prices of lumber and the specialized materials needed to construct durable and professional quality ramps, we will need additional funding to help make this goal a reality.

The $10,000 that we are setting as our initial goal will allow us to buy treated lumber, professional ramp surfacing, and customized ramps that will serve park visitors for years to come. Any additional funds that are donated will go towards future ramps and the addition of features that will create a welcoming, safe and comfortable atmosphere for all to enjoy.

Your donation will not only improve the quality of our space, but also impact the lives of young people who spend time at the skatepark pursuing their passions, developing friendships, and applying their skills to a community project.
