Children of Michael E. Porter

Michael Porter leaves behind 3 children, ages 20, 18 and 14.  His sudden and unexpected death leaves an immense whole in the world of those who knew and loved him.  After a lengthy career and in his late 50's Michael lost employment and all life insuance (which the family had depended on for decades) which came with employment benefits.  Less than two years later, Colleen was also the victim of corporate downsizing and the family had not yet recovered enough to afford individual life insurance on Michael (who had a heart history).  The Porters currently have no income stream and have been living out of retirement funds much earlier than intended.  Needless to say, the family is ill prepared to fund educational costs, among other costs, for their children -  especially for Brigid, who is the youngest.
