Last year our lives changed forever when we lost our beautiful baby girl Alicia-Adele. Her battle was incredibly short, fought against a rare and devastatingly aggressive brain tumour. While she was only with us for a short time, the impact she left behind is immeasurable.
Alicia-Adele was the kind of child who radiated kindness. She was deeply caring, always thinking of others, and possessed a spirit that could light up any room.
In her memory, we have established Alicia-Adele's Angels, a fundraising group dedicated to supporting Brain Tumour Research.
Why We Are Running
Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under the age of 40, yet historically, they have received just 1% of the national spend on cancer research. We want to change that statistic so that other families don't have to face the same heartbreak we did,
Alicia-Adele would have loved knowing that her name is being used to help others. By running the Caerphilly 10k, we aren't just hitting the pavement; we are carrying her legacy and love through the streets of her community to fund the science that will one day find a cure.
How Your Donation Helps
Every penny raised goes directly to Brain Tumour Research to fund sustainable research at dedicated centres across the UK.
• £25 can fund an hour of research.
• £100 can fund a researcher's work for half a day.
• £2.740 is what it costs to fund a ful day of life-saving research at one of their Centres of Excellence.
