Honouring the Life of Ava Choy
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,
My name is Amanda, and on behalf of the Choy family, it is with broken hearts that we share the devastating news of the sudden and tragic loss of daughter and sister, Ava, who was struck and killed by a vehicle during the Okanagan GranFondo cycling event.
Ava was doing something she loved—riding her bike amongst a community of cyclists who shared her passion. She had a deep love for being physically active, a soul drawn to the beauty and peace of Hawaii, and a heart committed to helping others through countless hours of volunteering. Her determination, energy, and generosity touched so many lives. Ava was small in stature, but mighty in spirit. She was a ‘fire dragon’ through and through.
Ava’s life was taken far too soon. Her passing was unexpected and has left our family in deep shock and sorrow. We are reaching out during this incredibly difficult time for support in covering the costs of her unexpected funeral arrangements and associated expenses. Losing someone so suddenly not only brings emotional pain, but financial strain as we navigate this heartbreaking chapter.
All funds will go directly toward giving Ava the dignified and loving farewell she deserves. If you’re unable to contribute financially, we ask that you keep our family in your thoughts and to share this page with others who may wish to help.
Thank you for your kindness, your support, and your love.
With gratitude,
Amanda and the Choy Family
