Izzy; An Independent Film

Hey guys! My name is Aaron Latta-Morissette and I am an actor, currently working and training in NYC. I moved to the city after graduating from the Cape Henlopen High School Theatre Department in Lewes, Delaware. I then made it my mission to get involved in any and every aspect of the industry that I possibly could. After a year of doing every student film I could get my hands on, hounding every person I'd meet to keep me on their radar, and praying I didn't become homeless before the age of 20, I started to get work in more and more professional projects. FlashForward another year, and one of the directors I'd been tormenting finally caved, and wrote a script with me in mind for the main character.
After a little (more) nagging from their favorite, starry-eyed young actor, the production team decided to film their movie in my hometown of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. From June 7-10, a skeleton-crew of six people will venture down to the beach and shoot Izzy, an upcoming independent film. In addition to casting local actors to fill certain roles, we're also using the local businesses, and beautiful scenery, of our beaches and towns to bring this story to life. I cannot wait for the world to see what Delaware has to offer.
Here's some information on why you'd want to help make this movie happen:
Have you ever...
- searched for the meaning of life?
- come across something too philosophical for you to properly understand?
- taken a quote from that very piece of literature and pretended to understand/embody it perfectly?
- moved to a new place that you had to grow into?
- been trapped on a subway car that's just too overcrowded?
- used a shameless, online dating site?
- gone on too many first dates to remember? All ending at date 1?
- wished you could find a dating app that would guarantee/create the person of your dreams?
- dreamed of having a movie narrated entirely by Aaron Latta-Morissette?
Wow, what a coincidence; I think this movie is perfect for you!
Now I know what you're thinking: "Wow, this kid has such a way with words! And is clearly so charming beyond his years! What kind of help could he possibly need from US on this movie?"
I'm so glad you asked.
As many of you may know, 20 years of hubris and impeccable comedic timing can only get you so far. Like most actors my age, I am not being paid for my work. UNLIKE just about everyone the director's age, he's not either. We are making this film entirely out of our passion for the art, and obsession with craft. Unfortunately, due to the respect we have for people in our community, we ARE paying for all the crew members' work, travel, and food throughout the shoot. That cost alone, paired with the cost of post-production once we finish, (sound/picture/color editing), leaves us with a daunting amount to achieve.
This movie is going to be an incredible hit, screening throughout the country in various festivals, and if you donate, we will be updating you on every step of our journey. Accordingly, we would be thrilled to include all your names in our credits, as an intricate part of our movie's actualization. We are all so happy to be creating a piece of art that doesn't rely solely on the accessibility of shooting in the city. Your help would mean showing the world that stories can be told anywhere, as long as the right people show their support.
As a theatre student in high school, it was always my dream to bring my love for acting and film back home, and now we have the potential, together, to make that dream come true! Any donation you make will help tremendously, and I can't tell you how much your generosity will mean to us. Please reach into your hearts and help support a young kid's dream of making his breakout film, right out of his home town!
