Help Nuclear Test Veterans & families sue the MoD!

Hello All!

My name is Susan Musselwhite and I am a daughter of a Nuclear Veteran, my Father witnessed the nuclear tests in the 50's and suffered the rest of his life because of it. My family and I have suffered because of this, we have a list of health issues, early deaths and mental impacts for what he went through. I was born with eye issues and as I have aged in years the health affects have gotten worse!

I now have that many health issues that I'm classed complex, I'm a blight to the NHS because of my Father being sent to these tests that have not only affect myself, my family but hundred's of thousand's of our community.

I'm always rare, I'm always left to fend as Doc's just don't know what to do with me!

I consider myself lucky though as a lot of our community suffer even harder than myself!

My daily health and mental suffering is always impacted not just because of what is impairing me but because we are so mistreated and dismissed by our government and the MOD, we have been lied to and cheated. Cheated of a life that we could be leading.

This is why I'm undertaking this challenge, I will be swimming from England to Kiribati ( in a pool! ) to raise funds to go towards our fight against the MOD.

For some they may think that this isn't a challenge, for my failing body though it really is!

The veterans, their families and descendants are trying to get hold of service medical records for the period that the veterans served at the British Nuclear tests. We have evidence they all had blood and urine tests while at the tests but the MOD is not helping. Initially they said none were taken, then that they could not find any. Now evidence has come to light that they hold thousands of these records. They are refusing to release them. These would give us a starting point for meaningful research to help descendants alive now and those who will come along in the future. We need to know what the servicemen were exposed to and by how much. We are suing the MOD for the trauma of withholding this evidence. Their only defence is to produce the records that we know exist and they have admitted exist. Please help us as the veterans and families cannot proceed unless we can pay the law firm. We have £60,000 already but we need £40,000 more. The firm is one of the world’s top human rights law firm and are doing this at cost price.
