GLVCSN Extra Credit Experience
The GLVC Sports Network (GLVCSN) is the first-ever NCAA Division II conference-wide digital streaming platform, promoting the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and its 16 member institutions in five Midwest states, including Illinois, Indiana Kentucky, Missouri and Wisconsin.
With an audience of more than 6,000 student-athletes, 60,000 students, and 500,000 alumni worldwide, the GLVCSN has helped raise the profile of the league’s 20 sports since its launch in 2014, allowing fans an opportunity to watch some of the best competition in the country for FREE.
The GLVCSN, however, also doubles as a valuable learning resource for students interested in pursuing careers in broadcasting, production, media relations, and print, digital and social media. Its popular “Extra Credit” initiative, which has afforded students an opportunity to travel to the GLVC Basketball Tournament and take complete control of the GLVCSN for select games, is now poised to expand on campus with the intent of creating a “learning laboratory” for those interested in pursuing a career in media.
Outside the GLVC, other schools and conferences may charge upwards to $8 an event or $80 a year for annual packages. The GLVC, however, remains focused on providing FREE coverage to our followers worldwide. But the GLVCSN is faced with funding these enhanced “Extra Credit” opportunities for our students as well.
So instead of that $5 coffee, that $15 lunch, or that $50 shirt (nah, forget it, buy the shirt…you will look great), help us provide these opportunities to our students. Donate today, and then sit back, log on, and listen to a rising star call the game, knowing full well that you are helping them pursue their dreams.
