Virtue of Reality: An Immersive Experience

Virtue of Reality is an open world experience, in which guests will step foot into a potential "future." In this future, society has been severely broken and human beings have forgotten the joy of, well, being human. It is up to the guests to investigate what has gone wrong and to help these people of the future to rediscover humanity and what it means to build up each other and our communities. This futuristic world will be constructed as a totally immersive and explorable environment, complete with interactive actors, games, and storylines, all of which will fortify the guest experience.
Who are we: We are the inaugural class of the University of Colorado Boulder's Experience Design MFA program, and we need your support! Virtue of Reality is our MFA Thesis Project, an immersive experience that we are fully designing from start to finish. It will be realized this coming September. As students, our resources for producing such a show are limited but our imaginations are wild and vast. In order to make our vision a reality, we're calling upon our network to gather funds that will be used for world building which is a process that includes:
- Building and dressing sets
- Procuring and transporting props
- Casting and training actors
- Creating light, audio and technical components
- Hair, makeup, and costume design
- Printing and marketing costs
...and the list goes on...
Our goal is that this event will not only serve as a culmination of the knowledge and skills we are building throughout our time at CU, but that the message of this immersive experience will inspire guests and spark positive change in their lives and our communities long after the experience has ended.
When: Virtue of Reality will be live Friday, September 20 through Sunday, September 22.
