Dan Kopetic Memorial Fund

Dan Kopetic was diagnosed in June 2011 with Synovial Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive soft tissue cancer. Despite multiple surgeries and rigorous rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, he sadly lost his battle to the disease on September 19, 2014 at the age of 42. During his long illness, he never complained or showed any self -pity. Dan and Jeanne had been married since 1999 and have three beautiful children- Toni, Camryn and Ryan. He had been a special education teacher in the Bellmore School District since 1999 and was also the Director at the Mineola Pool for many summers. His sense of humor and innate kindness touched many. He was well loved and will be sorely missed. Dan’s family and friends have no doubt that he is “tidying” up heaven now. This account is set up for all of you who asked, “What can I do for Jeanne and her children?” The site required that a fundraising goal be set, but it is just a guideline and can be adjusted accordingly. Jeanne and her family would like to thank everyone for their generosity, kind words, thoughts and prayers during these past three years.
