Update from original post below!
Brigette has made a full recovery and is healing up great! She still has no fur where the scar was on her belly, which you can see in the updated pictures. We still have this huge bill to take care of and any donations are greatly appreciated. So far with your donations we were able to cover the first and second monthly payment! Thank you so much!

Internet world, animal lovers, compasionate people, good citizens all around,

I am reaching out to you for help of my Mothers dog brigette (5 year old German Sheppard) who recently had to have emergency surgery for a freak medical condition. My mom who loves this dog to death could not put her down. The dog's bills are at a whopping $9,000 which there is no way my mom, nor any of us, can afford that!   Here is the detailed post of what happend to her from my mother's facebook...

"The good news is they didn't call us during the night.
She had a huge amount of sediment in the bottom of her gallbladder, like a stone but not a stone. That blocked the blood flow out of the gallbladder and killed her gallbladder. It also affected the surrounding areas particularly part of the liver causing hardening of it in that area and sepsis and infection throughout the abdomen. Surprisingly her biliribin and liver values are all still normal. The gallbladder is gone and out for biopsy and also a liver biopsy was done. She has catheters, drains, IV, hooked up to EKG still and she's being sedated which is a good thing because when the real Brigette wakes up she is not going to be happy. Her first night ever out of this house, she was born in this house.
Basically I brought in a docile almost dead puppy and the photo of her in her hospital room was after she was given fluids and just that alone perked her up. I went in to say see ya later and then she walked herself out and through the surgical room knowing exactly which door she came in and looked at me and said, "Are you coming?"  Update at 10"

Brigette is on the road to recovery and is expected to be back to normal soon!

My name is Rory and I am a 24 year old college student at Temple University and have enough money debt of my own, otherwise i'd give the money to her myself in a heart beat.

Any of your contributions to brigettes fund is greatly appreciated. Together we can pay it forward and help someone who saved a life of a beautiful dog.
