Positive Energy STEAM Ed. Center

Please help me fund the first year of my non-profit, "Positive Energy - STEAM* Education Center. This center will support the educational needs of students with special needs while affording these students the opportunity to explore their creative talents. The center will include:

-Academic and life-skill support for students,
-Creative work spaces and materials,
-STEAM activities, workshops, mentoring, and projects for students, families, & community,
-Project showcase space & events,
-Master artist workshops and performing arts events.

It is my goal serve to inspire students & artists around our beautiful city and aide in developing student talents while supporting their academic success.

8/20/15: UPDATE: Positive Energy STEAM Education is now a non-profit!

This funding will allow me to:
-Partially fund center operational costs for the first year,
-Assist in acquiring materials for student use,
-Assist in securing the part-time support of tutors, mentors, and an art/music therapist for students.

For the remainder of the funding, I am applying for various grants and hosting events to support technology, space rental/purchase, academic materials, and art supplies. The center also will accept volunteers and donations. SEE DONOR GIFTS AT THE BOTTOM.

There are so many places I'd like to take this project and I know that our community will be supportive of this endeavor. It can grow as far as our imaginations can take us, with your support.  An Artist Soiree featuring a live painting supporter reception will be held once funding is complete. Surprise gifts will be added to the soiree guests if the funding is surpassed. 

Please help me take my passion, creativity, and love of teaching to a place above and beyond the spaces where we currently exist. Become my partner in bringing new hope to talented students that need a reason to believe that they are capable of doing great things despite the academic challenges they may face. P.S. The picture of the developing painting that heads this project is my most recent work in progress, "Graey Scale: Contrast." I will post the completed work when this project is funded.

*STEAM is a term known among educators and is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathmatics. Students that participate in STEAM activities learn by building, creating, and exploring within and beyond these areas of focus.
