On the morning of April 12, 2015 my uncle Jimmy and cousin Dustin (21) were in a fatal car crash. They are survived by my aunt Sharron and her 17 year old daughter Laney.
Jimmy and Dustin were on their way home from Utah, bringing Dustin home for the summer after his first year of college at BYU-Idaho. Dustin had just returned last summer from serving a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Las Vegas, NV. He was so excited to be coming home to spend the summer with his family.
The accident occured between 4 and 5 AM in the small town of San Jon, NM. They were about 20 miles outside of Amarillo when they were killed in the accident involving three semi-trucks.

The Empey Family Needs Our Help
Tragically, Sharron had recently switched to a job that does not offer any benefits but was okay at the time as she was able to join a plan with her husband and children. When changing jobs, she also lost the life insurance plans that she had on each member of the family.
Please take a moment to donate if you can--the money will be used to help them pay for funerals and some debts so that Laney and Sharron are able to pick up the pieces with a little less financial burden. We can honor our friends by helping their family in a time of need.
Thank you for taking the time to visit; we really appreciate all your well wishes.
