I have a friend Emily, who I have known since grade school. She was born with cerebral palsy and has been in a wheelchair her entire life. She and her husband Daniel were thrilled to find out they would be having a baby. On February 5th this year, 6 weeks before her due date, Emily had a seizure in the shower.
At the hospital she was informed that she has Glioblastoma Multiforme, a very aggressive and deadly brain cancer. She endured brain surgery to remove the brain tumor and an emergency C-section the same week.
She is now undergoing radiation treatments five times per week and chemotherapy, her first round in a series. She will have huge and ongoing medical bills, and be very sick due to her treatment. Additionally, they owe a very large NICU bill since her son was premature and needed weeks of care. This is while also caring for him from a wheelchair, on one modest income.
I know they will be very grateful for any assistance during this tremendously difficult time, and a helping hand is definitely needed right now. Please help this deserving family if you can!
