Album Details:

1) Abandoned (featuring Anna Yvette): 3:43
Album opener, guitar intro, 3/4 time signature, a song about being "lost in space" so to speak. The desertion and detachment that one may experience while growing up and feeling like they are hopeless before realizing there is always another way.

2) Open The Floodgates: 3:58
Classic Dubstep track, a combo of groove and bass, creating a building effect. Heavy bass and synths. Dark themed and foreshadowing something ominous is lurking ahead.

3) The Flood (featuring Anna Yvette): 3:48
Melodic blend of EDM/Drum & Bass/Dubstep with memorable chorus from Anna. One of the albums potential singles. This song is about dealing with change that comes from personal relationships and your relationship with the surrounding World.

4) Atlas: 4:17
Dark, gritty, heavy. This song is about the feeling of spiraling out of control, mental health and other states of mind that may have been influenced by mind altering substances. "Atlas" represents the way that listener may view themselves amongst the planet, while there exact location is always set on the map, sometimes the mind can seem to wonder off course.

5) Sagan (featuring Anna Yvette): 4:51
A melodic anthem, tribute for my daughter to be, named after Carl Sagan. Hopeful, joyous and the feeling of anticipation; but leaping at the chance of embracing change.  The connection between ourselves and the cosmos.

6) Mercurial: 4:56
A melodic/experimental instrumental. Named for the ever changing structure of the song itself. A song about adaptation and evolution. Sometimes life may leave the subjective viewer searching to find themselves amongst the billions of people and billions of galaxies. But instead of the burden of fear, we can adapt and evolve to find a solution to our biggest problems.

7) Closer (featuring Anna Yvette): 4:44
Melodic and packed with brutal breakdowns, another potential for the albums 2nd single . A song about the future of humanity and our role in the cosmos. A blend of science, science fiction, and the human condition.

8) Overture [Sonata, segment A]: 3:11
The melodic/orchestral instrumental breaking up the albums 1st and 2nd half. This song is inspired by the sheer wonderment and awestruck feeling one may get when looking at pictures taken by the Hubble telescope at the billions of other potential worlds.

9) Enemy At The Gates (Capriccio, segment B): 3:23
Expiramental instrumental piece with a touch of Middle Eastern, Chinese, and Indian musical influence. Continuing the instrumental break from the 1st and 2nd half of the album and a lead in to the anthemic Falling Away (Hold On)

10) Falling Away (Hold On): 4:05
Riff driven, anthemic, and a blend of dark and uplifting melodies separated by a brutal interlude. This song is about not giving up, in spite of all of life's obstacles and pitfalls. Whenever you feel like reached a plateau pushing yourself to reach the next level.

11) Voyager 1 (Prelude): 5:26
Trance/Symphonic Instrumental piece, inspired to be a dreamlike soundtrack for the Voyager 1 space probe launched by NASA on its way out of our solar system. The voyage that takes place along the way incites the imagination of the unknown and what we subconsciously think we know. This song acts as a music bridge from Falling Away to The Darkness Trilogy.

12) The Darkness PT I (Forever): 5:00
"The Darkness" represents pessimism and fear. Fast-paced, synth driven and heavily inspired by hard rock/metal. The quintessential Ember Waves track; a summary of the musical themes I find to be my sound. A blend of dark and light. Melodic at its core with brutal breakdowns and interludes. The coda is a vehicle for hope, positivity and finding beauty in the smallest things in life. Segues into Pt II (Meridian)...

13) The Darkness PT II (Meridian): 3:39
If the coda at the end of PT I was a sign of hope, the beginning of PT II represents all the things can still come along and interrupt you on your journey. Heavy and very dark, mixed with a melody that finds it place amidst the gritty panning bass-lines. Using pieces of PT I and interpolations of the melody and vocals this song sets up for the trilogies finale. The fading vocals at the end segues into PT III (Past Forever)...

14) The Darkness PT III (Past Forever): 4:31
The anthemic finale to the trilogy. Brings in elements of parts 1 and 2, vocally, melodically and emotionally. Brings the darkness theme to a conclusion and the end of the albums overall theme. This song picks up where PT II leaves off, but represents the battle of the individual to overcome the obstacles; to Weather The Storm.

15) Cosmos: 5:01
The albums outro and the return to optimism in the wake of weathering the storm. Inspired by Carl Sagan and a tribute to his outlook on life and the cosmos. The shining light that humanity can save itself from destruction by simply trying to work together to make our time in the sun worthwhile and using our words instead of weapons.
