On February 18th, 2015, Andre Racine’s soulmate and treasured love, 24 year old Emanuelle D’Amours was horrendously murdered in the small northern town of Kapuskasing. She left behind her “Babe” Andre to care for their precious babies: sons Gabriel (3 yrs), Maxim (2 yrs) and daughter Ava (9 months). Their children are beautiful, smart and so special and this is due to Manu’s devotion, sense of humour, courage and time spent with them. Emanuelle and Andre were a team; partners who remained united in planning their family’s lifelong journey. She stayed home and cared for their babies while Andre often worked out of town for long periods of time to financially provide for them. There were tough times and struggles, but they went through them, together.

This tragedy has left Andre alone to shoulder the responsibility of financially supporting and raising his family. One is never prepared for the loss of a loved one, but this loss is especially hard due their young family. Andre is devastated, at the lowest anyone can feel when losing a lifelong partner, but particularly hard due to the circumstances of her death.

Manu was such a good “Maman” to her babies, and how will Andre ever explain to them why she is gone and never coming back. Those who had the honour and privilege of having Manu touch their lives are truly blessed. She held her children’s hands only for a short while, but she will forever hold their hearts.

Andre’s life will now prove to be a continuous uphill challenge, and thus to lessen this burden, his friends and family are gathering to request your support so that he may be able to remain strong and not constantly worry about financial struggles.
