Help Us Celebrate the Life of Artist and Teacher Elsie Grace
Reflections of Grace, August 23, 2013 6:00pm - 9:00pm at Copper Mountain College Arena Foyer.
Elsie will always be remembered as a gifted and talented artist. But she was also a wife, mother, teacher and friend. She saw the beauty in nature and interpreted it through her art. Elsie loved the outdoors, animal and the desert. She saw the good in others and lived a very content and full life enjoying her family, friends and work.
Elsie was an Art Teacher virtually all of her life having spent 33 years educating students in the visual arts at Copper Mountain College (CMC) in Joshua Tree, California. She also taught watercolor painting at various country clubs in the Coachella Valley.
Please help us prepare for our first event, Reflections of Grace. This event is in memorial of Elsie Grace to reflect on her magnificent art and gracious life. Please attend if you are able. Any funds donated will be transferred to CMC Foundation directly for their full administration of the scholarship.
Our goal is to raise $33,000 = $1,000 for each year she taught at CMC.
Why This Cause?Elsie was inducted into the College of the Desert 1997 Hall of Fame for "Outstanding Adjunct Faculty" for 32 years of service as an Art Instructor. She maintained that her teaching experience over the years was the most rewarding, enabling her to share the joy of achievement and the love and appreciation of art.
We, the family, are hoping to carry on Elsie's legacy of sharing the love and appreciation of art by providing financial aid to CMC students on an annual basis.
