I'm seeking a seat as a Councillor on Kamloops' City Council and need to raise funds for my campaign. Most campaigns in Kamloops require at least $5,000 to have a chance, and $15,000 to be a serious condenter. I'm planning on spending up to $5,000 of my own to have a chance, but, would really like to build up the campaign chest in order to get my message out.
I am the most progressive candidate to seek a seat on Kamloops' City Council. I would like to work on eliminating or reducing user fees for publicly funded facilities and services, including public transit.
The City of Kamloops is not lacking for funds as a whole, but, there are many families living in poverty and my policies will help those families more easily become active members of our community and also help children living in poverty access more community programs because user fees and transportation will no longer be an obstacle. I would like our City to take steps that would help reverse the ever-growing rates of poverty that plague our province.
I'm not counting on getting donations from wealthy corporations or individuals like some other candidates will because my platform won't appeal to them, so, I thought this fundraising page might be a convenient way for ordinary folks to chip in a little bit here and there - it all helps.
Please give what you can and help put a progressive voice on our council so that I can help so many in our community who have little or no voice at the tables where public policies are made.
Although the website will take your mailing info they do not forward that info to me. I MUST receive your full name and mailing address when you make a donation otherwise your donation is considered "prohibited funds" and will ultimately be forwarded to Elections BC instead of being used for my campaign.
