Dear Friends of Mother Earth,
We’re excited to share our journey in building Earth SMART (Sustainable, Mindful, Artistic, Regenerative, Transparent) communities—a mission that started locally and has grown to span the globe. Through years of dedicated work (and many volunteers hours), we’re together fostering environmental responsibility, education, and resilience across the U.S. and abroad.
With your help, we can:
- Provide sustainable building materials for community projects, especially seeds, soil, manure, and timbers for our Victory Gardens
- Offer food support for orphanages and poor neighbourhoods to upgrade their nutritional intake
- Support promising agriculture and environmental science locally and abroad
- Engage with leaders to broaden our impact
- Hire video editors to tell our story better on social media and in docu-series format
- Aim to return to LA county schools with another holistic program
- Spread our work to more counties in Kenya
- Pay stipends for our volunteer staff for transportation and hours
- Fund one year of schooling (including uniforms and books) for students in Kenya
Here's an idea of how your money gets spent:
Individual Donation: The value of your dollar goes incredibly far. As an example, $30 can fund a porridge feeding program for 300 children.
Grassroots Sponsorship: Partner with us at the $500 level or more annually, aligning your personal values or brand with a mission rooted in sustainability and social responsibility. This amount can sponsor a student in can for one year in school including tuition, books, uniform, and meals.
Small Business Sponsorship: Partner with us at the $1,000 level or more annually, modeling for the community a significant statement about your personal values or brand with a mission rooted in sustainability and social responsibility. This amount covers the basic administrative costs of our video team for one month.
Corporate Sponsorship: Your donation of $3000-$5000 can fund a WaterPOD and can literally transform the lives of thousands of students who are currently drinking salty or otherwise unclean water or aren't getting enough water, or both.
Our History
Local to Global: Building Earth SMART Communities Step by Step
Our work began humbly in 2015 with community-driven festivals like Julybalaya and continued with Bernie Man Festival in 2016. These gatherings promoted ecological awareness through plastic-free initiatives, community meals, and a “leave no trace” mentality, instilling a regenerative culture of environmental care and restoration. We had proud sponsors including Boxed Water and were able to serve some of the most vulnerable communities with music to "rock the cause."
From 2016 to 2018, our co-creation and partnership with Permajam significantly deepened our mission by integrating indigenous wisdom, permaculture principles, holistic healing, and ceremonial practices into the festival experience. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of regenerative stewardship, creating a foundation for our broader impact.
In 2019, we brought our mission to cities nationwide with Earth WALK USA, a cross-country journey that rallied people to walk for environmental awareness and advocate for policy changes supporting planetary health.
In 2020, we launched the annual International Women's Day Conference, a pivotal event that brings together women leaders worldwide to collaborate on sustainable initiatives. This conference, coming up on its 5th year, has prepared teams in over 70 countries to scale our pilot programs and expand Earth SMART values globally. We also recorded the "Uniting All the People" track inspired by John Lennon's Imagine All the People.
In 2021, we developed the Earth SMART accreditation standards for community living to help small businesses, restaurants, and hotels re-imagine their waste streams, offer preferred eco-vendors and reward participating locations for joining the movement. We also began the began early stage preparation of Earth WORLD VR, a metaverse experience with integrated blockchain and cryptocurrency technology for community art that fuels the fundraising and can serve as a digital meeting space for like-minded co-creators.
In 2022, we extended our reach to ocean conservation through the Ocean Health Now campaign, a collaborative effort to protect marine ecosystems and specifically to stop radioactive waste dumping into the Ocean, like they are doing in Fukushima. This campaign raised awareness for ocean health, built community engagement, and strengthened our commitment to addressing environmental needs on a global scale. It also used youth art (a hand-painted surfboard donated by Ripcurl) to open the global conversation with Greenpeace and other major environmental organizations. We also completed Earth WALK Bermuda to reign in the financial sector and insurance industry to begin thinking about Mother Earth.
By July 2023, our Mother Earth Speaks event with Zer0 Debris on Santa Monica Beach brought local communities together for a 140-pound trash cleanup, yoga, and ocean advocacy, echoing our dedication to regeneration and environmental protection. We continued incorporating yoga and live music from our humble beginnings.
In May 2024 we launched Earth SCHOOL at Moffett-Lennox Elementary marking our first partnership with a publicly funded institution, where students engage in hands-on environmental education. They learn about schoolyard gardens, composting, yoga, hydration, trash cleanups, upcycling, ocean health, and environmental media. Be sure to check out all those photos and videos! We aim to expand this program through the district in 2025 while also connected Moffett students with peers in Kenya for a cross-cultural exchange that fosters global unity.
In October 2024, we expanded our mission to Kenya with the Kenya Keynote Tour and Beyond This tour brought world-renowned speakers to high-need communities, combining motivation with hands-on projects that included assembly speeches for thousands of students, community feeding programs, direct classroom education, visits with various government officials, visits to rural and low-income areas to identify needs. This was an initiative that was self-funded by all of the participants and will be captured in an upcoming Bloomberg Television Docu-Series.
Expanding Our Partnerships for High-Impact Community Work
Mother Earth is endorsed at the global level by the International Human Rights Commission, Sophia Federation, and Global Women's Development Network (as a part of the UN charitable marketplace). In addition to our beneficiary schools and festivals, we also work with sustainability partners like Solaroof and Climate Smart Victory Gardens to develop the best quality programming and infrastructure like our Bubble POD solarium greenhouses. We were recently sponsored by the United Nation Division Global Youth Excellence and Leadership Program.
We're thrilled to now also be working with Prophet Reward Foundation (PRF) in Kenya which was established in 2008 and has taken on a leadership role in bringing our vision to Africa. Together, we’re focused on community resilience in high-need areas. Through this partnership, we will be launching Earth CLUB victory gardens at at least two girls' schools and a children’s home in Kenya, empowering students with sustainable agriculture skills and food security. Zer0 Debris is also supporting these gardens with cleanup efforts, ensuring a healthy space for growth and learning and has sponsored one of our girls on the ground for continued multi-stakeholder engagement.
Finally, we are in early stage conversations with WaterPOD advanced stand-alone filtration and purification on demand (POD) system to integrate all types of support for solving water access and quality issues.
Wraparound Vision: Ground-Up Sustainable Development
Our combination of U.S.-based education pilots, an international women’s conference, high-impact community work in Kenya, and global environmental initiatives represents a wraparound approach to sustainable development. By connecting local actions with global initiatives, we’re building Earth SMART communities committed to lasting change from the ground up.
How Else You Can Help Us Keep Moving Forward
We’re launching a fundraiser to expand our Earth SMART initiatives. Here’s how you can join us:
Spread the Word: Share our mission with others who care about sustainable, community-driven change and particularly share this fundraiser link. Don't just share the link but give a statement. Tell the world why you donated, or why you encourage your friends and family to donate. Tell us why this matters to you and what you want to learn, so we can incorporate your feedback too.
Donate more than once: Every donation supports our students, educators, and local leaders working toward a brighter future. We are grateful for every single donation. And of course, this is a massive endeavour. Don't be shy. Do what you can, but not more than can. But definitely do whatever you can!!!
All your support helps keep our team, this mission, and our beneficiaries alive, hydrated, and housed. We believe that the well-being of our team is equally as important as those we serve. We don't want to model burnout. We want to live and breathe regeneration. In exchange for your generosity, we can offer exciting tools for your corporate transition to being more Earth SMART, too! We Are Mother Earth, and so are you!
Moving Forward Together
Your support enables us to continue expanding our reach, connecting students, communities, and cultures in a shared mission for sustainable development. Together, we’re building Earth SMART communities that represent hope, resilience, and empowerment.
