To walk the stage...

Land of opportunities
I was brought to the country when I was 11 years old on a visitor’s visa,
As my father tried to settle his residency in U.S. through a work permit,
He was rejected three times and revoked his 10 year multiple visa back to the U.S.
Barring him to come back into the states since 2006,
After my high school graduation I found myself undocumented and status-less.
With a 3.8 GPA and a high school diploma, I was ineligible for any scholarships or Financial Aid.
In efforts of finding a job and enrolling myself back into an affordable school I moved to Eastern Kentucky.
There, I raised $12,000 dollars to go to EKU for a year, and worked nights and days to afford and keep a roof above my head.
After 3 years in Eastern Kentucky seeing the Dream ACT fail in Congress in 2010.
I moved to Louisville, Ky in 2011 seeking more opportunities.
While, sending my lovely mother back to India to care & company my father who was spending his past 6 years without his family by himself. My mother returned to India leaving me and my two brothers in the states by ourselves.
In 2011 I enrolled myself in to University of Louisville, Co-Founded F.I.R.E (Fighting for Immigrant Rights & Equality)
With the efforts off hundreds of other organizations around the country, in 2012 the Undocumented youth got a temporary relief through DACA (Deffered Action for Childhood Arrivals).
When I received my DACA , I was quickly employed at UPS
With my work eithic trying to be the best in everything I do I was promoted to be a Supervisor within the 6 months of being with the company.
I felt my life was a bit less stressful knowing that UPS would cover my tuition.
But I was wrong, after 2 semesters I found out that they would not cover my tuition because I was ineligible for FAFSA. Being in the last semester to graduate and having a hold on my account my dream to walk the stage with a degree in my hand seems a blur.
The only way for me to walk the stage is if I’m able to pay off my $15,000 thousand dollar debt.
As much as I have gotten support from my community in the past, I need you all even more now, so please donate towards my tuition and my dream. If you cannot donate anything, please do share so that others can help out for my cause.
Thank you so much for all your encouragement and support.

Sincerely,
Sagar Patagundi
