The BVZC (the name of this device) is a MEMS data acquisition system in a small and lightweight package with Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) capabilities. It uses triaxial gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass sensors in conjunction with advanced processing and on-board quaternion-based filtering algorithms to determine orientation relative to an absolute reference in real-time.
It is born by the idea to have some telemetry device to snap on objects like a car, RC models like planes, your pet or who knows...
The device can be also used and programmed as an Arduino MEGA, so you hit two flies with one swatter!
In the current stage it is capable of saving on a micro SD up to 32gb of data. The current sensors are:
- 3 axis accelereometer (up to 16g and 4mg resolution),
- 3 axis magnetometer (1.3 to 8 gauss 12bit resolution),
- 3 axis gyroscope (up to 2000 dps 16bit res),
- differential pressure for airspeed (+-2kPa or 58 m/s 16bit res [0.36 m/s] that will be doubled soon to 0.18 m/s),
- barometric pressure for altitude (1Pa resolution with +-5Pa accuracy),
- temperature (0.1°C res).
To get the first production starting and for further developing some found is needed, and everyone that can help me will be in my heart forever.
