By donating any amount to Dream Boxes, you will be helping an student obtain the supplies they need to be successful in school but also encouraging them to pursue their passions.
ABOUT: Dream Boxes are boxes filled with school supplies, art supplies, books, a dream journal and a letter of encouragement from another student. The purpose of Dream Boxes is to ensure that students have the supplies they need to be successful in school and the encouragement to pursue their dreams. Dream Boxes believe that students should pursue something they are passionate for despite hardships and discouragement. Dream Boxes goes to elementary and middle schools to talk about the importance of education, getting involved, and what it takes to reach your goals and dreams.
Dream Boxes was created by Patricia Manubay in March of 2015 with the help of the Jefferson Awards Foundation after the project won first place in Lead360under Education and Literacy. By the end of 2015, Dream Boxes has successfully distributed to over 50,000 students across the United States and the Philippines and continues to support students to this day. Dream Boxes has also been featured on MTV News, KPIX Channel 5 News, San Mateo Daily Journal and has been awarded a national and regional Jefferson Award as well as Rookie Playmaker of the Year by the 50fund and the Super Bowl Committee. Dream Boxes continues to provide school supplies to students, schools, and families nationwide and in the Philippines as well as talks to students about the importance of dreams, ambitions, and its role in education. Dream Boxes is now a project under Above Apathy, an umbrella service organization for projects like Dream Boxes. You can find more info abotu Above Apathy at aboveapathy.org.
